Roots
Trial is a kind of motorcycle sport, which started in England over 100 years ago.
It began with getting a better ride on a better machine, even in a bad condition. British people having a way with horse back riding would prefer to trials as a sport.
SSDT, started in 1909, has been supported with many volunteers.
Nowadays factories and teams, in particular F1, assist both drivers and machines.
If you didn't belong to a factory, you could never win.
Trials sport, particularly SSDT, value your independence from others.
When you got a flat tire, no one else could help you.
You should repair it by yourself.
No one gave you a tool, as well.
When you got a hurt by accident, it was your fault.
You should fight with yourself.
British riders might prefer to such an isolated hardship.
